About the Scholarship: Steve McIntosh was vice president & general manager of Belo Advertising’s Customer Services unit until his sudden and unexpected death in April of 2011.  An active member of both MFM and BCCA and a forward-thinking member of the media industry, The Financial Manager editorial board selected him as a person to watch in 2011.  To honor Steve’s many contributions to the industry and to help inspire other rising stars, the MFM Board created the Steve McIntosh Memorial Scholarship to the MFM/BCCA Annual Conference.

What is covered
  1. Full registration to MFM/BCCA Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront in Jacksonville, FL - May 19-22, 2024.
  2. Three nights at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront (Sunday - Wednesday) during the conference. 
What is not covered
  1. Transportation to and from the conference.
  2. Meals or incidentals not included in full conference registration.

Eligibility 

  1. The scholarship applicant must be currently employed by a media provider (defined as any company eligible for MFM industry membership).
  2. Applicant must have worked in the media industry for no more than five [5] years and under 35 years old.
  3. Only completed applications received on or before March 15, 2024 will be considered.
  4. Individuals who have received a conference scholarship from MFM in the past are not eligible.
  5. Selection committee as well as MFM/BCCA Board members and their immediate relatives are ineligible. 
Selection process
  1. The scholarship committee will review completed applications and make their decisions based on the applicant’s background, resume and letter of recommendation.
  2. All applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision by email no later than March 30, 2024. 
  3. The winner will be contacted and provided registration instructions. 

Scholarship Conditions

  1. If a recipient is unable to attend the MFM/BCCA 2024 Annual Conference or leaves his or her place of employment prior to the conference, the scholarship shall be given to an alternate individual selected by the MFM Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is awarded to an individual, not the media company.
  2. There will be no actual exchange of funds, as the scholarship covers the registration fee and lodging only. Transportation to and from the conference, lodging beyond three nights, additional meals, incidentals, etc., are the responsibility of the scholarship winner.
  3. All decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final.
