Annual Conference
MFM’s premier educational and networking event is the Annual Conference that attracts the brightest financial and business minds in the media industry. This three-day event is your annual opportunity to hear from industry luminaries as well as to learn from outside professionals and your peers. Speakers and panelists provide the latest thinking on topics such as accounting, taxes, technology human resources, management tools, FCC and regulation issues and credit and collections. Breakfasts, luncheons, breaks and evening social events at exciting venues give you opportunities to exchange ideas, best practices and success stories with colleagues from across the country.
Regional Seminars
MFM takes the information to you with half-day seminars in selected cities. Scheduled for September 15th, 2010, MFM's next regional seminar will be held in New York City.
Standing and Ad Hoc Committees
MFM committees – BCCA, Accounting Standards, Cable, Human Resources/Industry Education, Information Technology/New Media, Membership Marketing/Member Services, Radio, The Financial Manager Editorial Board, Newspaper, Television, Tax and new this year Purchasing Managers – play a vital role in the direction of the Association. Committee members find their contributions both help make a better Association for all members and that they advance their careers in the process.
Distance Learning Seminars
MFM’s monthly educational telephone seminars allow you to keep current on the issues facing our industries from the comfort of your own desk. Recent topics have included Music Usage, Bankruptcy, Liability for Media Companies, Immigration Issues, The Sales and Credit Relationship, Top Ten Political Broadcasting Questions. MFM brings you the experts with the information you need.
CPE Credits
MFM is the only professional association dedicated to finance and business management in the cable, radio and television industries. And, MFM is the only place industry CPAs can earn Continuing Professional Education credits while studying industry subjects. Annual Conference attendees can earn 15 or more CPE credits, Regional Seminars offer up to 4 CPE credits, and Distance Learning Seminar participants earn up to 1.5 credits per seminar.

TFM-The Financial Manager
MFM’s bi-monthly magazine features articles on issues, finance, taxes, accounting, credit and collections, new trends in technology, and valuable industry information. The official publication of the Media Financial Management Association, this recently redesigned TFM is published six times annually. Each bi-monthly issue of TFM delivers helpful and thought-provoking articles on all current issues, finances, taxes, accounting, credit & collections, new tends in technology along with one or more themed articles on a subject of specific interest to our industry.

MFM’s Membership Directory is your “Who’s Who” of finance and business professionals in the media industry. The online version, available only to members, is easily accessed from the MFM website.
Operational Guidelines
MFM‘s Operational Guidelines on Accounting, Credit and Collections, Internal Control, Trade and Barter, Records Management (formerly Records Retention), Revenue Recognition, Risk and Insurance, and Trade and Barter provide MFM members with a resource guide on which to base policies and procedures for these specific function areas. Currently the Accounting and Internal Controls Guidelines are being updated.
Understanding Broadcast and Cable Finance (Second Edition)
MFM’s Handbook for the Non-Financial Manager is an informative and easy-to-understand publication covering various financial systems and measures as they are used in the broadcast and cable industries. It is an essential resource guide for industry managers whose area of expertise is not principally finance or accounting. It also provides new financial managers (and students) an excellent overview of areas in which broadcast and cable financial systems may differ from those in other industries. This second edition of this book was released in February 2008. It can be ordered on Amazon.com or similar bookstore websites.

MFM’s online Job Bank is an essential resource for employers searching for qualified, highly skilled candidates to fill financial openings in radio, cable, television and other electronic media industries. Industry Surveys
