The Media Financial Management Association (formerly BCFM) is a not-for profit professional association; the only professional association dedicated to the unique interests and needs of business and finance executives in the media industry (TV, Radio, Cable, Cable MSOs, Newsprint, Emerging Media, etc.). Founded in 1961, MFM membership is open to all industry business professionals. In addition, MFM welcomes associate members from allied fields including: accounting; auditing; law; brokerage; etc. The Association’s approximately 1,200 active members are the top financial, station general management, IT, internal audit, human resources, and other media industry management personnel from all six major television networks, more than 60% of all network affiliates, at least 4,000 radio stations, more than 30 cable programming networks, several cable MSOs and newspapers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
MFM facilitates Distance Learning Seminars & Webinars, Regional Seminars; and an Annual Conference: MEDIA FINANCE FOCUS; publishes The Financial Manager Magazine, industry-specific accounting Guidelines, Understanding Broadcast and Cable Finance: A Handbook for the Non-Financial Manager; a Membership Directory, special studies and surveys; and files position papers with federal agencies on behalf of its members and its industry. MFM is also involved in the media industry credit matters through its wholly-owned subsidiary, BCCA (Broadcast Cable Credit Association), which provides members access to industry-specific Custom Credit Report, its new Commercial Credit Report and a bi-annual Credit and Collections Survey along with the Membership Directory and the Annual Conference.
